What is the BE KIND National Youth Leadership Board?

The BE KIND National Youth Leadership Board is an opportunity for students to be heard and share what is going on in their lives and the lives of their peers. Students selected to be on this board will be a voice for their school and help create the positive change they want to see in their communities. By learning how to communicate, developing problem-solving skills, and meeting other students from different backgrounds, board members should develop the tools they need to become leaders in their schools.

Who’s eligible?

Students 5-17 years old who consistently display skills of The Be Kind Pledge in daily life. Students must be in good standing in school academically and behaviorally, and have access to technology for quarterly zoom calls, email correspondence, and monthly surveys

What’s Included?

BE KIND Youth Leadership Board Swag bag, certification of completion, a minimum of 9 hours towards volunteer hours, early access to essay contest and summit

What to Expect?

Quarterly zoom calls (40 minutes), monthly survey participation, be the voice of BE KIND Youth Leadership Board at your school, additional opportunities for volunteer work

The Objectives of BE KIND National Youth Leadership Board

To build a collective of respectful, responsible, healthy and caring youth who will have a forum and be empowered to:

  • Represent their school/ peers with responsible communication and thoughts
  • Learn leadership and communication skills
  • Express youth opinions and perspective
  • Highlight concerns and issues that youth are facing
  • Participate in community/ school service volunteerism
  • Use their voice to help inform and initiate positive change
  • Look for and report the GOOD among today’s youth
  • Provide feedback on certain programs/ services of The Be Kind People Project
