Testing the Waters!

Swimming is the fourth most popular sports activity in the United States and an excellent way to get regular aerobic physical exercise. It provides individuals with an easy yet effective way to get in their physical activity.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention states that just two and a half hours per week of aerobic physical activity, such as swimming, bicycling, or running, can decrease the risk of chronic illnesses. Plus, exercising in water puts less strain on the body, which can help you work out longer!

Diving Deeper

Swimming provides excellent aerobic exercise that can improve overall physical and mental health, and it is also a fun way to get in your workout! Swimming has also been related to lower stress and improved moods.

A sporty swim

Swimming in your backyard pool or local swimming pool is a great way to get exercise. However, there are a plethora of water sports that can help you get active. A few of the most common watersports are surfing, synchronized swimming, and synchronized diving.

  • Surfing is one of the most popular water sports in the world. Surfers catch the ocean, river, and even artificial waves where there are waves to ride. Balance is required for surfing which provides great posture and helps maintain physical activity.
  • Synchronized swimming is a combination of swimming, dance, and gymnastics. Synchronized swimming requires endurance, strength, and control.
