Protect yourself (and others!)
Every year, the CDC recommends getting a flu shot or nasal spray to protect yourself and others from flu viruses. However, this year will be more significant than ever. Influenza (flu) is a contagious respiratory disease that can affect anyone, but some groups are at a higher risk of developing severe flu-like symptoms that result in hospitalization. The CDC recommends that everyone 6 months of age or older get the flu shot by the end of the month. Let’s learn how we can stay safe this cold and flu season!
A Season of Protection
While there’s no evidence that the flu shot or will protect you from COVID-19, it will help ease the worry of developing severe flu-like symptoms that may lead to hospitalizations. A Community of Health
Just like with COVID-19, there are certain groups of people that are at a high risk of developing severe complications from the flu virus. It’s also recommended that if you are around any of these groups, that you also take the extra safety precaution of getting a flu shot or nasal spray!
Be a Kindness Shield!
Stay safe this season by practicing healthy habits and arming yourself with a flu shot! You can get a flu shot or nasal spray at your local pharmacy or public health department. Click here to find your nearest location!
If you are allergic to the flu shot, keep practicing healthy habits, and encourage those around you to stay safe. We’re in this together!
