Empower Your Educators with The BE KIND Academy™ Teacher Training
The BE KIND Academy™ Teacher Trainings are training sessions offered to ensure that educators and staff are confidently able to navigate The BE KIND Academy™ as they work to incorporate the tenants of The Be Kind Pledge™ into the classroom, and ultimately the culture of the campus. By bringing the teachers and staff together to successfully register and log in, confident in navigation, and familiar with talking about The Be Kind Pledge™ in the classroom, we are not only actively fulfilling our responsibility to educate but truly embodying our mission to build a generation of respectful, responsible, healthy and caring leaders.
The BE KIND Academy™ is a comprehensive program aligned with national standards that integrates character education, academics, health, and online safety. The program includes adaptable academic lessons covering a wide range of topics, project-based learning units, The BE KIND Classroom Activity Cards™, and multilingual videos supporting The Be Kind Pledge™, The Healthy Habits Checklist, and #CyberSkills™ Checklist. The goal to provide educators with the necessary tools to incorporate character education into the classroom all year round.
The Academy classroom resources – available via an online portal accessible by all desktop, tablet, and mobile devices – are included as an important part of our flagship program, The BE KIND School™, or can be purchased by schools as a stand-alone program.
When are Teacher Trainings are Conducted?
Teacher Trainings are held during Staff Professional Development Meetings on their respective campuses. Sessions can be scheduled at any time throughout the year, but we encourage prioritizing the session to make place as soon as access is given. We aim to be helpful and considerate of our unhung heroes in our community, and this is a perfect example as it is hosted at a time when all teachers and support staff are present and given space to engage freely.
Each training session is led by a member of our Kindness Concierge Team, likely the member designated to that campus. Each of our Kindness Concierges are informed on the use and implementation of the programming and the needs of that specific campus so that they are prepared to answer any unique questions that arise during these sessions. Each session takes about 20 – 25 minutes depending on the needs of the educators and discussions that arise.
What Can We Expect During These Trainings?
We begin with an introduction and reminder of who we are and what we do at The Be Kind People Project. It is essential that the staff are aware and invested in the mission of our organization and are excited about being champions of the message at their school. Each school is given a unique registration link to create teacher logins that they can use to easily access the materials all year round. Our training walks teachers through the account registration process. Once we are all successfully logged in, we guide them through some of the most important pages on The BE KIND Academy™ website, including:

The “Learning Opportunities” page serves as the main menu and starting point of The BE KIND Academy™ online resources. This is where you will find The Be Kind Pledge Skill of the Month with the correlating videos and all of the Premium Classroom Resources

Following the walkthrough of the Be Kind Academy™ resources, we encourage the teachers to take a moment on their own to explore The Academy by clicking through buttons that interest them or fall within their specific teaching specialities. With a resourcehub this large, we want to help build their confidence in using the site, finding desired learning opportunities as well as discovering new ones.
We close the teacher training with a question-and-answer portion where our Kindness Concierges answers specific questions teachers may have about the resources and how to access them. Participants are also encouraged to share what they have found on the site that would benefit their cohort.
For example, during the exploration of The Be Kind Academy™, a kindergarten teacher recently found the “A Bubble of Gratitude” lesson in the Gratitude Journal button and expressed how this would make a great bulletin board for their kindergarten hallway!
