Finding the time to work out can be challenging, but what is more difficult is finding a workout routine you enjoy. The more you want to work out, the more likely you’ll stick to a solid schedule!

Zumba dance classes are a fun and easy way to get more physically active. Zumba has many health benefits such as increased weight loss, improved heart health, lower stress levels, and can improve mental health. This week, we will learn how Zumba can benefit your health!

What is Zumba?

Zumba is a fitness program that combines Latin and international music with dance moves, with routines that incorporate interval dance moves that work to burn calories improve overall heart health.

Zumba is also an aerobic activity that can count toward the amount of aerobic exercise recommended for most healthy adults by the Department of Health and Human Services!

Maria Kirley is a senior at Arizona State University pursuing her Bachelor’s of Science in public health. Maria has enjoyed the time she has spent with The Be Kind People Project, having a great time creating resources and providing information about healthy choices. Maria believes that health prevention and health promotion are vital in building a solid foundation.
