“I get knocked down…”
You know the words; that chorus encourages us to stay resilient! Resilience is the ability to recover from challenges and failures. Those that are resilient don’t let these challenges and failures get them down. They find a way to get back up again, healing emotionally to continue pushing towards their goals. Let’s learn how we, too, can build resilience!
“Everybody makes mistakes…”
Failure is a part of life, and you have to accept it and learn from it! Using failures and mistakes as learning opportunities can help build resilience to bounce back and potentially keep you from making the same mistake. Remember, be kind to yourself. It can be easy to default to negative self-talk after making a mistake but remember, your negative thoughts are not facts! Here are some questions you can ask yourself to learn from your mistakes and strengthen your resilience:
“I get by with a little help from my friends”
Resilience helps protect you from a variety of mental health conditions, like anxiety and depression. If you struggle with a mental health condition currently, it can help improve your coping ability. Here are some tips to help improve your resilience:
“We all need somebody to lean on”
We all get stuck sometimes, and you may realize that you need a helping hand to guide you through your current challenge.Licensed mental health professionals can help in developing skills and strategies to help you move forward.
Remember, you are not alone. Certain factors are out of your control, but rather than focus on the uncontrollable, choose to focus on the parts you do have control over and put your faith and trust in those you love and mental health professionals to get you through. We’re all on this journey together.
“We’re all in this together!”
